Start: San Sebastián Finish: Astigarraga
In San Sebastián we recommend an ascent up Igueldo Mountain by cable car, from where you can enjoy incredible views of the city and its bay. At the foot of the mountain, observe Eduardo Chillida's most emblematic structure, the Wind Comb, which defiantly fights against the sea waves.
We will continue our journey along San Sebastián's Old Part, where you will be pleasantly surprised by the variety of colours and flavours of its pintxos. Enhance their flavour by washing them down with a good Rioja Alavesa red wine or a glass of txakoli. On our final stop, we will remain faithful to our taste for fine dining.
We will make our way towards inland Gipuzkoa, on a quest for Basque cider. In order to find out more about the Basque Country's cider culture, we recommend visiting Sagardoetxea, the Cider Museum. For dinner, choose a cider house and enjoy succulent dishes from a menu that includes fried cod, cod omelette, grilled steak, cheese, walnuts and quince jelly, washed down with cider served directly from the barrel. During cider season, from January to April, we will enjoy the txotx, an exclamation that can be heard reverberating around the buzzing Basque cider houses.
