Vitoria-Gasteiz - La Puebla de Arganzón

The gentle rolling plains of Alava have come to an end. After more than 50 kilometres of easy walking, the mountain pass at San Miguel marks a change of pace. Once you leave Vitoria-Gasteiz behind, the pilgrims’ route takes you back into fields of grain, running parallel to the N-1 road and passing through quiet, friendly towns much like the past few days. Before leaving the Basque lands, the path cuts through Condado de Treviño, an enclave officially part of the province of Burgos but completely surrounded by Alava
