Start: ZumaiaFinish: Mutriku
On the third day, we will make our way to the Basque Coast Geopark, which stretches over the towns of Zumaia, Deba and Mutriku. The Geopark is home to the flysch, a formation of geological rocks and imprints which, in the form of spectacular cliffs, contain 60 million years of the earth's history. There are a multitude of activities to enjoy in the area: boat trips, trekking, canoeing, potholing, rides on horseback, MBT, etc. There are also two interpretation centres, in Zumaia and Mutriku, which will help us to understand this marvellous and unique geological formation. Remember that you are among picturesque coastal villages with a wealth of cultural attractions such as the Mutriku Historic Quarter Monument Site, the Santa María church in Deba and Zumaia's Zuloaga Museum; there are also expansive beaches where you can relax and have fun if the weather is kind to us. We recommend booking into one of the small rural hotels or establishments which are located along the coast. As you drift off to sleep at night, you'll be accompanied by the sound of the waves and the sea breeze.
