A wine from the Rioja Alavesa is voted as the best in the world

The Rioja Alavesa's wines grab international headlines once again. The Luis Cañas Crianza 2009 wine, which is produced by the Luis Cañas winery in Villabuena de Álava, has been selected as the best wine of 2012 in terms of value for money, by the prestigious American publication The Wine Advocate. The magazine, edited by wine guru Robert Parker, made the wine ratings public in July. Five wines from the Luis Cañas winery scored above 90 points. Luis Cañas Crianza 2009 scored 92 points, making it the best wine of the year in terms of value for money. According to Juan Luis Cañas, the winery manager and owner, this recognition is the fruit of the "effort, enthusiasm and passion" of his family. The Luis Cañas brand is present in more than 40 countries in the world.
